Enough With the "Mansplaining" Cop-Out Already

Hillary defends herself fine.
Hillary Clinton is one tough woman. She's run for President, twice now, and gone through the toughest primary we've seen in my lifetime. She's served as Secretary of State, facing down world leaders. She was a U.S. Senator, from the rough-and-tumble state of New York, no less. As First Lady she had her private life scrutinized in unimaginable ways. She went through law school when women didn't go through law school. She's a trailblazer and a fighter. Certainly being talked over in a primary debate isn't going to impact Hillary Clinton.

Listen, I get that it's a new trendy term on the left, but crying "mansplaining" any time a man debates or argues with a woman is ridiculous, pathetic, and silly. I don't support Bernie Sanders in this election, but he certainly has every right to mix it up with his opponent for President, man or woman. You don't see Hillary Clinton calling him out for overt or covert sexism today, and that's because she can take it and dish it out with the best of them. She's running for the most prestigious political office in our country, and whether Hillary is debating men or women, she does fine in debates. Yes, Bernie Sanders forcefully tried to make his point. It should be left at that, and debated on the merits from there.

The term "mansplaining" is a neat new "millennial" way to point out when men talk down to women. Men do lots of sexist stuff, I think we all know that (even us men). We can't start calling it "mansplaining" every time a man tries to make a point in a debate with a woman. It doesn't help the woman candidate with voters outside of the more "social justice" driven left. It doesn't help when a man actually just tries to shout down a woman, if we cry wolf in weaker instances. Hillary Clinton did fine. She won the debate in my estimation. She did some in a very "equal opportunity" way. Playing the "sexist" card in instances that we don't need to is only going to cheapen a candidate who is winning this on the merits, by herself up there. Let's stop this stuff.
