The New Hampshire Democratic Primer

The Iowa Caucus ended in a dead-heat. Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton fought to a near draw, and now they move on to the Granite State. Eight years ago, New Hampshire rescued Hillary after an Iowa loss, giving her a stirring come-from-behind win. Bernie has lead New Hampshire for a while now, and has served neighboring Vermont in Congress for many years. Who will win?

My sense here is that this race may be over before it starts. Bernie Sanders did very well last night, and has the lead by nearly twenty points. Barring a mistake, he should win. If he does win, it will be a huge story next Wednesday morning, despite the expectations. I'd be shocked if this isn't a good state for him.

Hillary will get her votes, but really has low expectations here. For her, she just has to give an honest showing. She's supposed to lose here. Don't make the big mistake, and things should be fine.
