Do Your Job, Senator Toomey

In an hour, activists will gather at 1150 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. in Allentown to protest our United States Senator. For being a Republican? No. For refusing to do his job. Senator Toomey refuses to give Judge Merrick Garland an up-or-down vote for an Associate Justice seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Despite the overwhelming public consensus, including from over 20 editorial boards in Pennsylvania that U.S. Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland deserves a fair hearing and an up-or-down vote this year, Senator Toomey and fellow Republicans still haven’t gotten the message. That’s why Americans United for Change has hit the road with a nine-state, nine-day mobile billboard tour featuring local leaders to underscore the urgent need for nine Justices.

The message to Senator Toomey is simple: Do Your Job and Fill the Vacant Seat on the Supreme Court, or Someone Else Will Fill Yours.
Senator Toomey is currently caught between a rock and a hard place, his Senate Republican colleagues who don't want to do their job, and a re-election bid that is jeopardized by it. Judging by the fact that Senator Toomey says he voted for Ted Cruz to be our next President last Tuesday, I'm not holding my breath for him to do the right thing here.
