A Lion Doesn't Concern Itself With the Opinion of a Sheep

I need that house. I need a wife. I need that car. I need kids. I need whatever the hell else other people are getting my age. Right? Eh. I don't agree. I'm also super self-confident, maybe too much. I am a bad example.

I just was reading a blog post about the fear of not finding "the one" and I guess it struck a chord. It was a great piece, in that it told you to not worry about that. I guess it just kind of shocked me- more people really are worried about being alone than I think. In a world with billions of people, the fear of being by one's self is terrifying for most of the world. Is it that we're just incomplete by ourselves? Is it that we feel inadequate by ourselves? Is it that we're conditioned to think we are supposed to not be by ourselves? I'm not sure.

This kind of gets to my emo-millennial point of the day here, one that is kind of obvious, and corny, but kind of true- you're not going to live a 1950's sitcom life that meets the expectations of your parents and grandparents. That's gone, it really is rare now, and it's probably not going to happen for you. So don't try to please them. It's pointless. If you're happy with you, others will follow.
